Marinha beach (Praia da Marinha) is one of the most breathtaking beaches in the Algarve. No surprise that it is considered as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world by the Michelin Guide.
The beach is located not too far away from Carvoeiro town, in Lagoa Municipality. The coastline in this area is stunning and Marinha beach is no exception.
If you like hiking, you could get to the Marinha beach by foot following the cliff route from Carvoeiro town. Alternatively, it is fairly easy to get to this beach by car if you follow the road signs from Carvoeiro/Lagoa. There is plenty of free car park space when you get there. There are quite a few steps down from the car park to the beach. Therefore, it might not be suitable for wheelchair users or those who are less mobile.
There is a restaurant/cafe at the beginning of the beach, where you could grab some drinks, lunch or have an ice-cream. It also has toilet facilities. This white sand beach is perfect for sunbathing, snorkelling and swimming. As it is one of the most famous beaches in the Algarve, it might get crowded during high season.
